GAZING OUT
Until my next issue of Elixir for the Soul!
From the mind of: Frederick D. Porter

Yonder here I sit, gazing out across at the fields from whence I sit.

Seeing the perfect picture image of me, while I sit and write words on paper; meaningless to others, but means the world to me.

Now, that the sun is starting to brighten up my day, I can finish washing clothing that I started doing yesterday, before darkness fell upon me.

Now, where I live, it’s a beautiful place, surrounded by tall trees in a rather large wide open space.

Even though the trees and the surrounding is great, but that’s nothing if I tell you about the people that’s around me every day. Nothing but God could ever take away the beauty that they possess inside.

“You have just read the book – Elixir for the Soul….the saga will continue.”

Son – Bobbie Lewis; 17 years old

Reverend – E. Mike

First Lady – Mrs. Robbin

Policeman – James

 Narrator

Hope, Faith, Belief

Narrator:  This family believed in God. They were raised in the church and so their children were raised that way too. The story begins…

Mrs. Williams:  Shandrea, come on downstairs and get ready for school.

Mr. Williams:  Yeah! Come on so I can drop both of you off before I go to work!

Shandrea:  Mama, something’s wrong with Bobbie Lewis.

Mrs. Williams:  What did you say, Child?

Bobbie Lewis:  There’s nothing wrong with me. I’m getting up!
_______

After school, the teacher, Mrs. Cherrie calls Mrs. Williams to tell her that she caught Bobbie Lewis in the boys’ bathroom smoking marijuana and popping some pills.

Mrs. Cherrie: So I called the police.

Mr. Williams:  Where is he now?

Mrs. Cherrie: He was taken to the police station

_______

Later that day, the policeman knocks on the door of the Williams’ home.

Mrs. Williams: Who is it?

James: It’s Talaves Police.

Mrs. Williams: Oh, Child. I’ve got to get off the phone. Come on in.

James: Mrs. Williams, your son is in big trouble.

Mrs. Williams:  So I’ve heard. Thank you for bringing him home.

Narrator:  By this time, Mr. Williams walks in.

Mr. Williams:  What’s going on here?

James:  Your son was caught doing drugs.

Mr. Williams:  Boy, you must be crazy! Go to your room. Thank you, Officer. We’ll handle it from here.  Call the Pastor. This boy needs prayer. How long have you been doing drugs, Son?
Bobbie Lewis:  For a long time, Dad.

Mr. Williams:  But why?

Bobbie Lewis:  Because nobody likes me unless I’m doing what they want like getting high. And I don’t believe in God.”

Shandrea:  Mama, I told you something was wrong with Bobbie Lewis, but no one would believe me.

Mrs. Williams:  Baby, I’m sorry for not listening to you. I thought that you were mad at him and just making up something to get him in trouble like before.

Rev. E. Mike, and the First Lady, Robbin, knocks on the door…..

Mrs. Williams:  Get the door.

Shandrea: Yes, Mama.

Rev. E. Mike:  First, let’s pray.

(say short prayer)

Narrator:  Ephesians Chapter 6, Verses 10-24, “The Whole Armour of God”.

Robbin:  Okay, let’s talk.

Mr. Williams:  Bobbie Lewis, don’t you want to say something?

Bobbie Lewis:  Yes. I did it to belong, to be part of the crowd.

Rev. E. Mike:  Well, Bobbie Lewis, there’s a new program called “Hope, Faith, Belief” for people just like you, who has fallen off that solid rock that Jesus talked so much about.

________

Six Weeks Later

Mr. Williams:  Look at him! My boy! He’s president of the Hope, Faith, Belief program.

Mrs. Williams:  Yeah! He’s singing and leading the choir.

Rev. E. Mike:  Yes, he’s doing great, isn’t he?

Robbin:  I love it when God steps in and shows His greatness.

Shandrea:  I’m just glad I got my brother back! Thank you Jesus!

Narrator:  The moral of this story is no matter what you go through, without Hope, Faith, Belief in God Almighty, any and everything can and will go wrong. But, with Hope, Faith, Belief in our Savior Jesus Christ, everything seems to turn out just fine.

Everyone: Who is that?

Narrator:  It’s God, Jesus, the Holy Ghost!

The End

P.S. Christmas is every day that God allows us to wake up to every morning.

Gospel Poetry

Even In Troubled Times

Just because there’s a smile on my face doesn’t mean that I don’t have trouble on my mind and in my life. Even in troubled times, there’s still joy in my heart and mind, because I got the strength of Jesus and he gives me peace, hope and love for everybody. I don’t stand on sinking sand; I stand on the solid rock that Jesus gives to me by sharing his love.

Even in troubled times, the love of Jesus is there for me just like he’s there for me in good times, no matter what I go through, whether it’s good or bad, I know for a fact that Jesus is there no matter what anyone says or does to me, Jesus is always there.

Even in troubled times, he’s there through all of my trials, in all of my tribulation, and in all of my turmoil, my faith is so strong in Jesus Christ until I just let go and let God handle whatever it is that I’m going through in my life; just let go and let God even in troubled times.

Everything I have belongs to Jesus
Everything I am comes from Jesus
Everything I have belongs to Jesus
My arms, my legs, my mind, my whole body
Everything I have comes from the Lord
If you want to know him, just try him

We are living on borrowed time, and nothing belongs to us. Jesus will give us what we need. All you have to do is trust him. Have faith and believe. Let the world know he lives inside of you.

Everything I am comes from Jesus; everything I have belongs to the Lord. My arms, my legs, my mind, my whole body. Everything I am comes from the Lord. Just trust and believe in him.

Jesus knows exactly what we need before we ask. Don’t you know he reads our minds, he can see the intangible things we don’t think to find. If we just have faith, just as the grain of a mustard seed, he will supply all our needs.

Everything I have belongs to Jesus
It all comes from the Lord
My mind, my soul, my life. He’s my everything.
It all belongs to him.

Today No Butts Allowed

Today is another day that God allowed me to live to breathe his air; thank you Jesus. Today is another day that God allowed me to wake up this morning from a wonderful sleep (thank you Jesus).

Today is another day that God allowed me to praise his name (thank you Jesus).

Today is the day to praise him, not tomorrow, not tonight, nor yesterday, but right now is the time to praise him, and let your love shine and give praises to the most high. (Today, no butts allowed)

Now here’s another day that God allowed me to start out my day to be on my way. Thank you Jesus. Today, God is allowing me to write these words to let somebody know that nothing belongs to us, it all belongs to God almighty. So, this is why I thank him for each moment of each and every day of the year.

Today is the day to praise him, not tomorrow, not tonight, not yesterday, but right now is the time to let your love shine and praise his name (not when it’s convenient for you), Today No Butts Allowed.

FAKE LOVE

Fake love – it’s all around us, it happens in our world every day, people giving people false hope to gain their needs and vain promises to get something for nothing.

Fake love – it shouldn’t be, but it is, it should be a thing of the past, but it’s not, the love of God should be in everybody, but it’s not.

Fake love – is the way of the world, even some preachers have it some prayer, warriors have it, some of the members in the churches have it, some mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands, wives, coworkers, nephews, nieces, sons, daughters have it too, even people you’ve just met, but that doesn’t make it right.

Fake love – it shouldn’t be, but it is, it should be a thing of the past, but it’s not, the love of God should be in everybody, but it’s not.

Fake love – get rid of it, take it out of your mind and out of your heart and let’s all learn to love everybody for who they are and not for what they can do for you.

Fake love – it shouldn’t be, but it is, it should be in everybody, but it’s not. God gives out real love and it could be yours for free, so please everybody, accept God’s love and stop giving out fake love, false hope, making promises that you know that you’re not going to keep. Get with God for real love. There’s nothing fake about God!

Come on, I dare you to give God a try.

P.S.  Some people in the world have hearts. But, when they say they love you, and they really don’t, they’re giving out fake love. Like they gave Jesus when they took His name in vain.
JUST BECAUSE I’M A MAN

Just because I’m a man, it doesn’t mean that I don’t cry nor does it mean that I can’t be hurt. I have feelings too you know!

Just because I’m a man, do you think that I don’t cry? Do you think that I don’t hurt just like you do? And just because right now I’m in a slump, and can’t do what I use to do, or what I want to do, it doesn’t mean that I’m not a good man, because Baby, when you cry, I cry with you, and Baby, when you hurt, I hurt right along with you, my lady.

Just because I’m a man, it doesn’t mean a thing, because my, my, my, my baby, whenever you’re hurting, I’m hurting too. And whenever you’re crying, I’m crying too right along with you.

Just because I’m a man, it doesn’t mean that I’m an egotistical male chauvinistic pig (you dig), because my baby, my angel, whenever, whatever you go through, I feel it too.

So, my baby, would you please stop telling that you don’t need me. Also, would you please stop telling me that I’m no good because my, my, my, my baby, whenever you cry, I cry too, and my sweet lady, whenever you hurt, my baby, I hurt too.
